Why Is Modesty Important To Me As A Woman of God? (Part I)

As I pondered and asked the Lord, what should be my next topic on the blog. I came across this picture of Megan Good at the 2013 BET Awards, as shown above. I was in total shock because I knew she married a minister and professed to be a Christian. The spirit then gave me the topic of modesty (spiritual and physical). As I researched all of the backlash that she got from her choice of dress, the spirit gave me Romans 12:2 (NIV) which says, “ Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” I have noticed that as time goes on woman of God are becoming more and more scantly dressed. Conforming to what society deems as how a woman should dress. In the words of my father,  “ women are walking the streets naked.” In today’s society you can’t distinguish a woman of God from a woman of the world (in action and attire). In a conv

What To Do While Waiting (Natural Preparation)

Hopefully we have all come to terms that we have to wait on God and are content with whatever His will may be for our lives. We know what to do spiritually while we wait for our husbands, pray, focus on God’s promises, devote ourselves in ministry and live in the present and not the future, but what can we do naturally?   In the last post I shared with you all that God laid on my heart in relation to the parable of the ten virgins and how He revealed that yes you are waiting, but in waiting there has to be preparation. Just like the five wise virgins prepared for the coming of the bridegroom by having extra oil in their lamps, we too must prepare spiritually and naturally for the man of God that He wants to bless us with. My mother always tells me that why do single women think that God is going to bless them with a man of God when they themselves are not in order (relationship with Christ, others, not bearing the fruit of the spirit, not living right etc.). It is very true an

What To Do While Waiting.....(Spiritual Preparation)

So God says to wait… Wait for the husband, wait for the kids…So many thoughts come to mind, all the lonely Valentine’s Days, having to observe the happiness of all the other couples, and more importantly that feeling of loneliness. So what am I going to do while I wait? In this entry I want to deal with what we can do spiritually while we wait on our husbands. In the last post I emphasized the benefits of waiting on God, the five R’s, Refreshment, Restoration, Revelation, Renewed Strength and Redirection. When I thought about writing this posts, and through prayer and meditation the Holy Spirit laid on my heart the parable of the ten virgins. They all looked the same from their physical appearance, but five were wise, and five were foolish. Five of them were prepared and five were unprepared. The parable of the ten virgins has been heard over and over again. The emphasis is on how we need to be ready as the five wise virgins for the coming of the Lord. But as the Holy Spirit kept
