Why Is Modesty Important To Me As A Woman of God? (Physical Modesty) (Part IV)

As I sit and look at the picture above and meditate on what God has placed on my heart. It makes me wonder what Christianity has come to. Everyone is a Christian now days. Yet when you look at their actions and the life that they are living, in no way does it reflect Christ. It seems that in today’s society all you have to do is say that you are a Christian and you are one, but you can go on living life the same way as the sinner in the world. You can get drunk, party, sleep around and do pretty much anything but you are a Christian. However, Matthew 7:20 says, “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”  So when someone proclaims Christianity I always look at their actions, the way they carry themselves, how they treat people etc. to see if they are truly a follower of Christ.
In the world today how Christians are living there seems to be no standard of holiness.  When you talk to people they tend to say you are judging them. Someone once told me that I am an extremely judgmental person. And I realized that a lot of people don’t know what judging truly is. For example, I was talking to a friend and she is in a relationship and says she wants to change her life and turn it over fully to Christ, yet she is still having premarital sex. I told her God is not pleased and then we got into a conversation where she told me I was very judgmental. I am definitely not a person who judges because I know that I don’t want to be judged. For it says in Matthew 7:1, “Judge not, that ye be not judged.” However, if you come and talk to me I will tell you what the word of God says in reference to your situation and your circumstance. This is not judging its simply telling you what God’s word says. Judging is forming one’s own opinion or conclusion on a person and when I give advice I always try to make sure that it lines up with the word of God. I don’t know why I am taking this avenue as I write this entry, but I just want to encourage you women of God never be afraid to speak out and proclaim the word of God. When you tell people what the word of God says and if they aren’t following it, you are then told you are judging, but it’s their guilt knowing they are doing wrong in the eyes of the Lord. Just know you are not judging them, but you are proclaiming the truth. Remember that Isaiah 40:8 says, “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”
Now back to the matter at hand, a lot of people tend to say that man looks at the outward appearance and God looks at my heart. This is all true, but it does matter how you appear outwardly to man, because you are representing Christ. I Corinthians 3:16 says, “ Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” We know that modesty is both spiritual and physical, now lets get to the physical aspect of it.
I Timothy 2:9 says, “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel.” It seems that modesty today in the Christian community is interpreted in so many ways, but in the posts to come I want to provide clarity on what is modest and what is immodest. When you are saved, and seek the infilling of the Holy Spirit, he will teach you how to dress. I want to leave this question with you to think about. As a woman of God, do you dress modestly?

Love you all,

Daughter of the King!

The Modesty Survey I

In doing research for the topic of modesty, I stumbled across this very controversial survey, The Modesty Survey. The Modesty Survey is an anonymous discussion between Christian guys and girls on the topic of modesty. Apparently hundreds of Christian girls contributed to the 148-question survey and over 1,600 Christian guys submitted 150,000+ answers, including 25,000 text responses, over a 20-day period in the year of 2007. Usually you would think this is a dream come true for Christian women to be able to pick a Christian man’s brain on such a controversial issue. Initially in 2007 it was a hit and now the women who had contributed along with other men who had participated in the survey now feel that it was the worst thing that they could have done. After reading the views of both parties, I want to encourage you to read the points of view and form your own personal opinion of the survey. The links posted below are from one of the females and one of the males that took part in con

Prayers For The Month of November

Good morning to all, Sorry I have been away for a while but I am back! I pray that September and October have been good months to you. This is the month of Thanksgiving as many tend to call it. We have so much to give God thanks for. Just being alive is a blessing!  For the month of November I want us to concentrate on corporate prayer. You may ask well what is she talking about? Corporate prayer doesn't need to be a gathering of saints praying together. No, corporate prayer is about you standing in the gap for someone. There are many prophets in the Bible who did this and we can look at the story of Habakkuk. He was one of the minor prophets in the Bible who had no sin, but prayed and begged and pleaded God for mercy, forgiveness and restoration on behalf of his people who were in exile in Babylon.  God dropped in my spirit that we need to take time to prayer for others and not just ourselves. I have been guilty of this as well. So this month let's prayer f

Prayers For The Month of April

Happy April! I am so sorry I have been away for a while, but I am back by the grace of God. School got extremely hectic, but my thoughts and prayers were always with you! It's amazing how the page has received so much views and attention! Thanks for your support! So as we know this is the month that we commemorate the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! We think about the love that kept Him on the cross for you and me. So for the month of April I am asking that we pray for three things: 1) Patience so that we can wait on God's timing. " But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience."   Romans 8:25 (ESV) 2) The love of God. Christ died just for me and you because of love, let's pray to be His hands extended and show that love each and every day! " But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. " Romans 5:8 (KJV) 3) A spirit of gratef
