What To Do While Waiting (Natural Preparation)

Hopefully we have all come to terms that we have to wait on God and are content with whatever His will may be for our lives. We know what to do spiritually while we wait for our husbands, pray, focus on God’s promises, devote ourselves in ministry and live in the present and not the future, but what can we do naturally?   In the last post I shared with you all that God laid on my heart in relation to the parable of the ten virgins and how He revealed that yes you are waiting, but in waiting there has to be preparation. Just like the five wise virgins prepared for the coming of the bridegroom by having extra oil in their lamps, we too must prepare spiritually and naturally for the man of God that He wants to bless us with. My mother always tells me that why do single women think that God is going to bless them with a man of God when they themselves are not in order (relationship with Christ, others, not bearing the fruit of the spirit, not living right etc.). It is very tru...

What To Do While Waiting.....(Spiritual Preparation)

So God says to wait… Wait for the husband, wait for the kids…So many thoughts come to mind, all the lonely Valentine’s Days, having to observe the happiness of all the other couples, and more importantly that feeling of loneliness. So what am I going to do while I wait? In this entry I want to deal with what we can do spiritually while we wait on our husbands. In the last post I emphasized the benefits of waiting on God, the five R’s, Refreshment, Restoration, Revelation, Renewed Strength and Redirection. When I thought about writing this posts, and through prayer and meditation the Holy Spirit laid on my heart the parable of the ten virgins. They all looked the same from their physical appearance, but five were wise, and five were foolish. Five of them were prepared and five were unprepared. The parable of the ten virgins has been heard over and over again. The emphasis is on how we need to be ready as the five wise virgins for the coming of the Lord. But as the Holy Spirit k...

Why Should I Wait On God?

Yet another friend gets engaged or married or even starts a new relationship. And yes you are still alone, waiting…. Waiting for your happily ever after, waiting on your prince charming, waiting, as we singles say, to start life. But are we truly waiting on God? Wait is defined by Webster’s dictionary as, “to remain stationary in readiness or expectation, to stay in place in expectation of.” As was stated in my last post over a week ago, I let it go and have totally given God full control over the area concerning my love life. I have had a peace that passes all understanding, putting total trust in Him and His plan for my life. Yes I long to be in love, be married, have kids and live happily ever after, but I remember a verse that a mother in my church always encouraged me with. It says in Matthew 6:33 (KJV), “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” This verse says ALL things, not some, but ALL things will ...

Why Am I Still Single?

“The question still remains….why am I still single? Lord why? I am a good Christian woman, I have been living right and being obedient to your word, yet I am still waiting for You to send my prince charming. I look around and everyone is either married, or in a relationship and on the road to marriage. When is my Boaz coming Lord? When will I get married and have children? When Lord when?” Many of you single women out there can relate to the above release of frustration to the Lord, when we feel lonely, someone gets engaged, married or even starts a new relationship, and you are still alone. You tend to vent to the Lord, as I did above, when that feeling of loneliness or the feeling that you have somehow been left behind is been planted by the enemy. There are times when my circumstances and where I am in life as a single woman doesn’t bother me, but there are times I vent. I am human and I feel, but in these times I find my way back to God’s word and resting and believing in Hi...
