Always The Bridesmaid, Never The Bride

Blessings to all!  I hope everyone has been doing well and hope this short piece encourages you. When you are single and you stand in so many weddings you always hear this saying, "Always A Bridesmaid, Never a Bride." Now a days it doesn't even matter if you stand in many weddings, you may be just attending many weddings of friends jumping the broom. In any event, you are never the bride and sometimes we in our single states are happy for our friends to see how in love they are, but we also sometimes allow the enemy to allow us to become jealous and the self righteousness starts to come out. Why couldn't it have been me ?  She  hasn't been obedient to your word Lord ? She hasn't been keeping herself pure for her spouse ? Father their not even saved ? After all the questions flood your mind, still the thing that you wanted the most you haven't gotten. After really thinking about it, the Holy Spirit brought the story of...

Prayers for the Month of April

Happy April ladies! We are officially in the month where we commemorate the Lord's death and resurrection. It is so important to reflect on such an historic event because without Christ dying for our sins and loving us so much we would not have the abundant life, the many blessings and access to Him because of this event. For this month I want us not to only reflect on Christ's death and resurrection, but to pray for these three things: 1) Pray that we will learn to trust God and give EVERYTHING, and not somethings over to Him. For me it was one of the hardest things to do in my walk with God because it is hard to give over all control and not know what is going to happen ahead. But when we decide to accept Him into our lives we must submit to His will, His way and the plans He has for our lives and in order to grow and increase our faith in Him we have to trust Him more.  “Therefore I tell you, do not worry  about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, w...

Are You Like Sarah?

Good morning to all, I am sorry I have been away for a while, but I am back. School has truly been a balancing act this year. However, I have still been busy studying and growing in Christ along with balancing family, school and friends. At the beginning of the year I decided to start studying women of the Bible and it has been a truly life changing experience to really look into the lives of these women and see myself. The first woman I want to talk about is Sarah.             Sarah is one of the most beautiful women in the Bible and, her name means, “Chieftainness” or “Princess”.   Every time I reflect on the story of Sarah I remember her precisely as the wife of Abraham who could not wait on God and took matters into her own hands, a strong willed woman. Then after creating the problem, she treated Hagar, her handmaid, horribly. One could term Sarah as a “diva.” Beautiful, married to such a rich, intelligent and most impor...

What Season Are You In?

"There is a a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven."  Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)    Many single women wonder if they're in a season, or if they will remain single forever. Even Christian women can get hung up on God's timing. If relationships move too slowly, we get frustrated. One of the exciting things about God being at the helm is that He knows every season of our life, even before it comes.    So, what season are you in, daughter of God? Are you in an autumn season? Life seems to be slowing down? Perhaps you're in a bleak winter, where potential relationships with the opposite sex seem impossible. Maybe you're entering a springtime season, where your hopes are lifting and new possibilities rise up at every turn. Or perhaps you're in the middle of summer, where everything is in full bloom.    Regardless of where you are, God is ready to meet you there. He alone knows when the seasons will shift- but when they...

Engagement & Marriage Fever

Well ladies I don't know about you, but there seems to be some sort of fever going around. Everyone around me seems to be getting engaged and if not engaged married. Here I sit, in my mid twenties, single, a virgin, and it seems like no prospects in sight. Yet every time I log onto Facebook there is some newly engaged couple or someone got married once again or there are pictures of happy couples so in love. Every time I turn on the television its another romantic movie, or television show on…..             The enemy tries each time to make me feel lonely, that I am getting old, and that I will end up alone. At this point I'm asking God why hasn't my time come to love? Why hasn't my time come to have someone to call my own. Lord I've stayed true to my vow to save myself for my husband, and I have been by the grace of God been living my life for You, growing, and walki...
