Prayers For The Month of September

Happy September!

I know its been years since I have posted, but I am back and better than ever! Still going through my trials, but trusting and depending on God. I hope you all have been well!

For the month of September, I want us all to concentrate on praying for our unbelief. Did she just say unbelief? Yes I did. But you may say what is she talking about? I believe in God. A friend of mine pointed out to me just how much unbelief I truly have when we were talking about a situation I was going through. And I sat back and thought, "Wow, I really do have unbelief." It was an ugly truth. Because the word of God clearly says that without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).

The dictionary defines unbelief as, "the state or quality of not believing." Unbelief also represents two Greek words,"apeitheia," which means disobedience and "apistia," which means distrust. So when we exhibit unbelief we are not believing God, we are being disobedient and also distrusting Him.

As a single woman we always face doubts about if we are beautiful, will we ever meet the right one God has for us, will we ever get married, will we ever become a mother? The enemy brings so much doubts to our minds, that we actually start to believe each of these lies and exhibit unbelief.

God wants us to believe Him. You might say, I'm a Christian of course I believe in God, but God isn't asking you to believe in Him, but to BELIEVE HIM! Believing God is so critical to demolish these strongholds that the devil places on us. Strongholds that make you believe you are not beautiful, strongholds that make you doubt if you will ever get married and strongholds that make you believe that situations in your life will not work out!

But you can't just believe in Him to be free from your stronghold. You must believe Him! Believe He can do what He says He can do. Believe you can do what He says you can do. Believe He is who He says He is. And believe you are who He says you are!

So this month let's abolish this unbelief and pray daily for God to help us with our unbelief. Make a list of things in which you doubt whether it be your beauty, your relationship, being single, financial needs. Let's pray on one accord this month and demolish this unbelief!

"Father, so often I feel like the boy's father who first exclaimed, "I do believe!" then in a flood of sincerity cried out, "Help me overcome my unbelief!: (Mark 9:24) Please help me to overcome my own unbelief, Lord, so I can start taking You at Your Word."

The Modesty Survey I

In doing research for the topic of modesty, I stumbled across this very controversial survey, The Modesty Survey. The Modesty Survey is an anonymous discussion between Christian guys and girls on the topic of modesty. Apparently hundreds of Christian girls contributed to the 148-question survey and over 1,600 Christian guys submitted 150,000+ answers, including 25,000 text responses, over a 20-day period in the year of 2007. Usually you would think this is a dream come true for Christian women to be able to pick a Christian man’s brain on such a controversial issue. Initially in 2007 it was a hit and now the women who had contributed along with other men who had participated in the survey now feel that it was the worst thing that they could have done. After reading the views of both parties, I want to encourage you to read the points of view and form your own personal opinion of the survey. The links posted below are from one of the females and one of the males that took part in con...

The Modesty Survey III

  1)     Standards can vary for different occasions. (e.g., a formal spaghetti strap dress at a wedding is more modest than a spaghetti strap top at the movie theater). Age Comments 15 Occasion is the wrong word, setting is a better word. In the living room of your own house, without any guests, sisters could probably wear almost any thing without being immodest, although their actions will still have to be modest. Outside of the home I don't think there should be a difference of standards. 18 I have questions about this. I personally have been bothered by some of the wedding dresses I've seen recently. I think I will encourage my future fiancĂ©e to choose a dress that is beyond reproach, with no possibility of causing someone to stumble. ...

31 Days of Praying for Your Future Husband.....Day #1

Hey ladies, I hope you all are enjoying the new year so far, but I came across a post on a group encouraging singles to pray for the month of January for their future spouse. Then after a little research I came across this "31 Days of Prayer for your Husband" by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. It just dropped in my spirit that why can't we pray these things for our future spouses, we may not know who they are, or when God is going to send them, but as wives to be we can bless our future husbands by praying for them. This will enable us to be the godly wives God has called us to be.  Earnest prayer for your future husband is good for him, for you and the spiritual health of your future home (Proverbs 31:11-12).  Satan desires to destroy your  future husband, especially his character and his leadership in your upcoming relationship. Trust God through prayer as you daily surrender your husband to be and  future marriage to the Lord’s wise, loving care. So let's commit to this...
